Find Block stolen phone

I have an HTC Desire HD Android phone
How can I block it if it gets stolen i.e prevent the thief from ever using it?

There are apps to do this. Where's My Droid comes to mind. But there are other apps out there that might be better. See if there is an app here for you.

if your desire is rooted then you can really control it! Check out Avast AV. Also wheres my droid....

You can lock the phone, and track it via GPS even if the simcard is swapped!!! (not even a factory wipe will help) LOVE ANDROID!

Well you could just report it to your service provider like you would with any other phone to get it blocked.

You can also use Lookout. The developer also has an application called Plan B which you can install remotely after the phone was lost/stolen if you didnt already have anti-theft software installed.

I cannot testify to the reliability of Plan B but it will be sweet if it worked as advertised.

+1 for lookout but the phone needs to be on, and if they flash another rom or factory reset then it'll be gone.

Best to have it blacklisted via the provider
