Fire at Brakfontein 132/11kV Substation Disrupts Power in Tshwane, Restoration Efforts Underway

OH and at 12 this morning it went out again, just came on now.
Feel sorry for the guys that rented generators, they all returned them this morning and then boom power gone again.
Other did not get generators, complained in beginning when they lost all their food in fridges and freezers. Then went and stock up this morning and then no power again. At least it was not too long so most food should be OK for them.

About R500 a day.
I rented a few years ago in similar situation but it was only off for 3 days and it was cheaper then. Total was R700. But this time when I saw the extent of damage I knew its going to take long and with renting prices now its going to cost almost what you can buy a generator for.
SO decided to buy and either keep it or sell it again and only loose 1-2k

Tad expensive considering you buy your own fuel, in a matter of days you could be at the price where you could have just bought one outright.

Yes think there is/was few places that cables was stolen too.
As I understand this 12 days was not even the permanent fix, think some lines are still routed and piggyback on other or something.
Anyway our outage for just our small area yesterday was apparently because of this. Don't know if this was at the sub that was fixed or somewhere else,
