Hi Mark,

Do you know how long the transfer process will take? Since I just paid for my data from MTN a few days ago. They renew my data usually around the 13th-16th.

Regards

Hi Speed23,

You will need to cancel your service with MTN, they will respond with a termination date, FireStream will then align its activation with that date so as to ensure no loss of comms.

Thanks

Can we offset the installation cost by using our own router? If so how much will the installation cost be?

The activation fee is currently being discounted by 50%. If the home does not yet have fibre installed, then the standard MTN fibre installation will would apply.

Ok thanks for the info Mark. What is your international latency like, especially to London and the EU in general?

FireStream only does month to month. All services are uncontended, try 1:1 services. Latency to UK is 180ms.

What routers are you guys supplying in Cape Town area for MTN, as ZTE manages MTN FTTH network here it may have to be a ZTE router?
I am currently directly with MTN and have ZTE F680 router.
The fibre terminates directly into that router.

Hi MrSmith

You will keep the current ZTE ONT/router and the new isp will give you another router which will be connected to eithernet port 1 or 3 whichever is provisioned as the Bridge on the ZTE router provided by MTN. Your new isp will tell you which to connect to and provide you with PPPOE details for the new router. So it doesnt matter which router they provide you with you could even buy your own.

or they could just give you PPPOE details for you to change on the ZTE you already have.
