First Tesla Model X ships to South Africa next week

Sustainable technology group Rubicon is bringing a Tesla Model X Performance Edition all-electric SUV into South Africa next week.

"This is a big step forward for raising the profile of renewable energy in South Africa," the director of Rubicon Energy & E-Mobility, Greg Blandford, told MyBroadband.

They are in the business of renewable energy so this will be perfect for their customer base who already doesn’t rely on Eskom.

Also nothing ancient about a 2015 car that was already ahead of its time. Especially not one that gets constant updates, but the S and X have just been refreshed for 2021 so these will be brand new.

Aren’t all i3’s fitted with the range extender motor here? So technically plug-in hybrids.

And, as mentioned in the article, Tesla produces updated versions of its vehicles just like any car maker.

The 2020 Tesla Model X Performance has several upgrades over the original 2015 model. Just at a basic level it has a few more horses under the bonnet (or strapped to the wheels?), and longer range (490-odd km compared to 400-odd km)
