i have another car question for you car fundies out there.

i had a slight altercation with a wall and need to replace my cars bumper and headlight( i already replaced the light for R650 at GW). my question is 2 part:

1)i drive a 1.4 Corsa Comfort (2003). it doens tcome with foglight or anything but i was thinking since i already have to replace the bumper can i not replcae it with a bumper that has foglights?

i see there is cabeling for the foglights already, so would it basically then just be the case of installing the bumper with the foglights and also putting in a swithc for the lights or am i being to optimistic to think that the wiring would be complete already?

2) do you know of any garages or panelbeaters that wont rip me off as some of the quotes ive been getting to replace the bumper and have it resprayed are completely ridiculous.

As for your question... i know nothing about these things so there.
But what i do know is that foglights make a car faster especially when they're switched on during daytime. My 1.4 corsa has foglamps  and its defnitely faster than other 1.4 corsa's without foglamps :p

Anyways how hard can it be the light needs positive & neg from your battery. If you already have the wires there than use those otherwise just pop two wires from the battery put a switch on one and bamm done.

Contact Autostyle and check if they don't have an aftermarket bumber that you can buy with folg lights.

Then all you have to do is get it sprayed. The fitting you can do yourself it's not rocket sience.

fitting the fogs should be pretty simple, but imo the problem comes with fitting the switch for them, as i doubt the car will have the switch installed just waiting for the fogs.

so the wiring "might" be there, but i connecting it to a switch that doesn't look aftermarket, is where the problem comes in imo...you don't want your car too look like a half-suped golof from lenz (you all have seen what i mean ;) )

also if this exercise doesn't work, you'll have no functional fogs, a switch that might have damaged dash (even worse, leaving a hole), and just to add maybe an extra rattle or 3....not too mention wasted cash

Ok so i guess no one can help me out with some info.

I have however found a guy in Randburg who could fit & spraypaint a bumper for me for R1700 (although its just a plain bumper with no fogs).

Check out Dent Express in Strydom park - they are bumper pros. There's a very good chance they can repair your existing bumper.
