Five months, 33 e-mails later... and I am still waiting for a refund.

I think Neotels tactic is to frustrate you into submission. They just keep playing dumb until you eventually give up. I am too tired to explain it all, so just take a look at this PDF of our e-mail conversation. 'Nuff said there really. Pay back the money!

This is generally their attitude. Highly unprofessional with messed up billing systems and staff which continue making promises.

As a business we eventually had to move and still sit with billing issues outstanding for 6 months.

The only way you will get some attention is to blog and then send emails to their executives and shareholders. Their email addresses are easy, it's firstname.surname@neotel.co.za

I would also report them to ISPA - not that anything comes out of it, but it will give them into a response.

I've reported it on Hello Peter, SA Consumer Complaints, and getclosure!. I can't seem to figure out how to report them to the CPA... do I have to phone them or is there an e-mail address I can use? Will report them to ISPA now. I wouldn;t even bother with the executives etc becasue they are the ones setting protocol like this. They are a bunch of scam artists.

I can't understand how they are allowed to continue operating at all. It seems the CPA is nothing more than a piece if paper... a dog with no teeth. I am 100% certain I am not the only one who is being treated like this and the average consumer probably just gives up. Surely they are breaking the law and should be shut down. The reason I wanted to return the product in the first place is because despite the fact that I was getting full signal I was getting a Speedtest result of 0.1mb/s.... that is utterly retarded and it's obvious they are simply taking on more clients and not improving the infrastructure to meet demands. Then when customers are unsatisfied and want to return the product or terminate a contract they play a game of cat and mouse.

Does anyone know if it's possible to crowdfund a lawsuit in South Africa? I'm sure there are several business and probably thousands of disgruntled clients who would love to see them taken to book... but the idea of taking a corporation to court seems impossible to fund on your own.

I submitted my complaint to ICASA with all correspondence and within fourteen days my case was resolved and Neotel refunded me the following month.
I cancelled within the first month of my 24 month contract.

Contact ICASA at consumer@icasa.org.za

Good luck!

ISPA sorted it out for me thanks. Although I still feel if I had the time and power I would shut them down.
