Five Toyotas that are rebadged Suzukis

These Suzukis can barely make it to 120km/h with their underpowered engines, what are they doing on the highway. They belong in town where they can do 60km/h max.
Guess you never drove the old Yaris. It could barely make 120km top speed. But never got many speeding fines, because it couldnt.

Here is some fun to watch. A granny Honda Fit vs a Suzuki Swift racing.

And rebranding a LandRover as a Jaquar? Dishonest too?
A Landrover has been a Leyland, Ford, BMW, TATA.

Currently its TATA and not Jaguar.

The only Range Rovers that was good was under the original Leyland and the BMW.

Thats hilarious though.... not a single mass produced car on the road today is 100% that brand.
It's been that way for decades and many cars are just rebranded versions of other cars.

Do you still think that a Ferrari is still a Ferrari ?
Ferrari yes, but Aston Martin no. Aston Martin is a rebranded Mercedes GT with more styling.

The big issue here is that none of these cars are actually Japanese anymore, so the reliability argument is moot.

Most of these are either Indian, Chinese or some other Asian country outside of Japan that can manufacture them as cheaply as possible.

So at the end of the road its your decision.

Like my brother before...You can drive a Subaru WRX and spend 20k on tyres because you skim the edges around corners, and spend R17k a month on fuel. Yip when you have friends in Duynefontein, Gordons Bay and Noordhoek, you drive a lot.

Or you can trade it all in for a Swift and pay next to nothing on fuel. R1600pm on fuel to be exact.

And then you havent factored in the car payments yet.

Japan now manufactures all Hondas pretty much.

Erm, my Beleno will beg to differ.
It's a gorram beast.
Hit 120 bloody quickly if I don't pay attention. And it just keeps going.
These things are insane.
HUGE fun to drive.
We had the old Baleno, was really good.

However the swift and Baleno's are used for Rally cars. In matter of fact Suzukis are really good offroad. I have seen many a landy stuck where a Suzuki does it like a breeze.

Even fruit is from all over. Pears grown in Argentina, is packaged in Thailand then sold in the US.

Yup.
Another brand, that peeps would be surprised by, that was very successful in Rally, was the Nissan Juke.

Aah. No wonder their rally car looked somewhat OK - the ugliness was hidden by the dirt and branding!

With plenty models made here over the years, would you say that BMW is a German or South African car?

I have no problem reaching 120km/h.

The 1.5l ones with a manual transmission are fine at highway speeds. You just want to be a bit careful about overtaking on a hill without excellent visibility.

And then they don't even have the same warranty as Suzuki.

There are other differences: The engines are made by Toyota for the Starlet. The mountings and placement in the engine compartment also differ, so, you cannot use one's parts in the other. This was a requirement for the agreement between Toyota and Suzuki. Are you he engines and drivetrains very similar? Definitely.

We do get outdated models. The new Rangers look like the old models in the US, the Havals here likewise aren't sold in China anymore, and, we'll likely only see those in years.

And then they don't even have the same warranty as Suzuki.
The demand is so high that they don't need to offer that benefit to sell it. Suzuki distinguishes itself with the longer warranty and increases demand with the perceived additional value. Both brands are very dependable, so, the person that'd likely have to rely on the warranty is unlikely the majority.

Starlet guys, let’s try that again.
No, it's correct, this shyte they're selling are scarlets. ;)
The Original Starlet was a pocket ROCKET of note. I still maintain that the GR Yaris, should have carried the Starlet Name.

Them: " Suzuki's are shyte"
Me: All I want is a 1300 Suzuki.

Suzuki:....

No matter what has happened for 10+ years it actually still boils down to false advertising.
