Hi,

I need some ideas and suggestions on how I can fix solar panels on my roof. My roof is flat IBR with a waterproofing membrane on top. We cannot penetrate the membrane because we will lose our warranty. I am not fond of the idea of using ballasts as I am not sure what the weight carrying capacity of the roof is. At the moment I am thinking of having a steel frame built on top of my roof, either as in the first two pictures or the second two, however I have no idea what it might cost and whether it will be feasible. I am planning on putting up between 10 and 12 panels. Please advise.

And my second idea:

Yes that would be best, Having a steel frame bolted securely as your pics depict. It should set you back perhaps around 5K or less to have it fabricated, Depending on the size that is needed. What size panels are you planning to have put up?

Second one with the raised portion would work perfectly.
