FlexOn issuse SMS's

Hi there all

I was on the old Telkom Free Me contract for a while and recently switched to their FlexOn since it was better value.
Only issue is I always received OTPs and other SMS's when in other countries on the FreeMe contract but now I am not receiving anything at all on the FlexOn contract.I can't seem to find anything online about this issue.
Everything works fine when in SA,it's only changed when in other countries.

I have a secondary number on the FreeMe contract and used that a few times to receive SMS's but it's frustrating to keep hopping between both numbers just for a simple OTP for 2FAs etc
 
Are you on a topup basis perhaps? Why I ask is in the past, at least on other networks, prepaid roaming was less reliable/available than post-paid roaming.
If you're on FlexOn Topup, then you would be on the prepaid billing system and perhaps where you are overseas prepaid roaming is not supported yet, or perhaps not fully working there.
 
I've had the FreeMe on a contract with no device since 2017 and then switched to the FlexOn contract.My account gets debited each month so I'm guessing it's post paid.
I didn't activate roaming or anything whatsoever on the FreeMe bundle but I did receive the SMSs on my other FreeMe bundle without activating roaming.I am guessing it works without any extra costs for roaming.
