If you pay for your flights with FNB credit card you also get free travel insurance.

All Visa and Mastercard credit cards provide travel insurance when purchasing international flight tickets.

Discovery health also provides free travel insurance to their members, just be sure to either advise them beforehand or download the travel insurance forms from your profile on their website

Note that that free travel insurance mostly only covers medical cases and not things like luggage getting lost and some other things included in paid travel insurance.

Thanks for Tip on the cache.

Visa for Thailand?

Not sure, I was just saying ..if... it's a general travel tip. Most visa form require you to provide itinerary including hotel address. Seems no visa required for thailand according to above. Good to know.

Always clear your cache before getting second / third etc quotes - they track you and bump prices up to scare you into rash bookings. Google it - its a well known ploy.

And also a load of BS

http://blog.getinvisiblehand.com/20...ating-prices-with-cookies-it’s-an-urban-myth/

I can also confirm this myself as I planned a trip to Europe for a couple of us then sent the itinerary through to the people going with and after some changes it was only booked weeks later at the same prices...

The prices are determined by how popular the dates are and how close to the time you are booking. If you plan your trips well ahead and not a couple of weeks ahead you'll pay far less and the prices won't change on a daily basis.

Feel free to prove me wrong with solid evidence but your conspiracy theory is BS like 99.999% of all other conspiracy theories.

Believe what you like... it's called bait and switch. I book my own flights often enough to have seen it first hand (more than once). Ive seen prices shoot up within 5 minutes of my first attempt at booking, then had someone elsewhere do the same booking as me at the same time with different results. It's particularly apparent on flights to smaller destinations where they don't declare the carrier (Georgetown, Guyana is one where I've seen this first hand).

I agree with Grim on this one.

I search flight prices regularly and I have not found any evidence that prices increase the more you search.

With regard to itinerary proof for your Visa, Thailand don't require it. You complete a little blue form that they hand out on the plane that is more of a survey, you have to insert the name of your hotel but I don't think that they even read that.

The card is your arrival and departure card so remember to keep it for when you leave again.

It's very likley not all providers since it would be illegal in most places.

My suggestion is to fly Thai airlines ( that is who we flew with last year). Alternatively go onto www.travelstart.co.za and it will search for the cheapest flights for you.

For accommodation try use tripadvsior as it is direct ratings from people who have stayed at the hotels and resorts and will give you a good idea of what people think of the places. You can always book through www.booking.com or agoda.com once you know which hotel you want to stay in.

No visa required for Thailand from South Africa

None of your sources provide any concrete evidence of this.

Pics or it didn't happen.

The EU regulators would come down on Ryanair like a ton of bricks if this was even remotely true.

Unlike SA, companies in the EU are sht scared of the regulators there.

Again, by all means be ignorant if you prefer. What does clearing your cookies cost? Your links provides nothing either, so what? What makes you think you're going to be able to prove this other than via someone else's personal experience (my example)?

And you have proof that European regulators actually care or do anything about it or are unbiased? Actually I don't care, but back to my point...
what does it cost to clear cookies or use Tor browser?

They can charge whatever they want for a flight. If you agree to the quoted price, that's it. South African ticket prices are also dynamic, except they continually compare their prices against their competition and adjust the prices accordingly. They are completely entitled to do so, irrespective of how much we dislike it. It is all automated. That is why tickets with different airlines usually cost about the same. The staff can manually intervene if a flight is still empty close to its departure date, by releasing 10 or 20 seats at a cheaper rate. This is why I often recommend booking your flight within 7 days or so of your flight if you are flexible.

Unless you absolutely have to travel... you could find yourself without a seat that close to the time - particularly if you have multiple legs.
Also, booking this way on flysaa.com will guarantee you an expensive economy seat.

I have also found that the best time to get the cheapest flights are when the airlines have specials for certain time frames.

I once got a Cape Town - Bangkok return ticket for R4600.00 with Qatar, R5800.00 for the same flight with Singapore Air and my last flight was R8000 with Emirates in high season.

Just wait for the right time and subscribe to all the airlines' newsletters.

Like this one from Qatar: http://www.qatarairways.com/global/en/cugs/visa-africa.page?CID=EMZA743710

You will find that school holidays are usually blocked out.

My personal experience.

So you so badly want proof of this, where shall I go to check prices and then check them again for you in a week, I'll post the screenshots.

Anyone manage to get any flight quotes for Thai airways recently? It's as if they have fallen off the face of the earth. Quotes not coming through on any of the flight site i.e Travel start, flight centre, eBucks etc.

We're not on the same page. I travel often and have personal experience too. I'm talking minutes, not weeks. I expect prices to fluctuate daily and weekly, not within a minute of querying them.

Most services like kayak.com allow you to specify a window x days before and after, then select the cheapest flights from a matrix. Also, if you are allowed to, make sure you select to search for flights to nearby airports too - some destinations have more than one international airport.
