Just now again heard the Minister of Hat Affairs talking about having receipts for your cigs. So, if I'm "gerook" because of all the rubbish being uttered by individuals does that mean I too must have my receipt?

The government is losing R300-million to R400-million per month in legitimate taxes from the ban on tobacco alone.
So they must have a very strong reason, if they want to keep it in place...

Is this government intentionally trying to bankrupt the country to create an autocracy in the image of China? The actions certainly seem to indicate that another agenda is at work. There is a great deal of evidence available from renowned virologists and immunologists to support the view that the stringent methods being used here are unnecessary and are in fact counterproductive, both from a health and certainly from an economic point of view.
Despite this, no research seems to have taken place, other than pronouncements from the WHO, which has not covered itself in glory, but has in fact had allegations levelled against it for not having taken China to task in not releasing the outbreak timeously, causing the unbridled spread of the virus. In fact mounting commentary from independent impeccable sources is surfacing concerning the nature of the virus, which needs much more serious investigation. Continuation of the current situation cannot continue as it is weakening the country to a position where adverse financial intervention could challenge our sovereignty and impose financial conditions from which there could be little hope of escape. Greece, and certain African states like Kenya, Zambia and some others have either already succumbed or are well on the way to doing so.
Bankrupting a country hasn't stopped some leaders from staying in power for decades, and living a high life!

FMF: Cigarette ban in SA could last until 2021

Free Market Foundation (FMF) CEO Leon Louw believes that the cigarette ban in South Africa may last until 2021.

"Smokers should be prepared to pay R20 for a single cigarette or R200 a box for many months to come," said Louw.
This government is doing absolutely nothing for the citizens except taking away all our rights. We should all stand together and stop paying tax. That should sort this problem out very fast when they have 0% income coming in

Duarte voiced her protest against the "odious attack on Minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma by what is clearly a well-orchestrated and well-heeled tobacco industry", in a voice message shared with News24.
Erm, no ....

It's amazing how much drivel and hidden agendas are now being fitted into the lock down regulations.

How can we do that? Don't they take the tax before you receive what's left of your money?

Man, the economy had already gone up in smoke (did I just say that?) long before this lockdown. Things are just getting worse for some. Perhaps the fortunate ones really do have a hidden agenda.

There was a process to be followed - not just drag off and burn.

Firstly, the suspected witch would be secured into a chair at the end of a long pole placed above a deep body of water.
The suspected witch would then be dunked under water for a few minutes at a time.
This process was repeated.
Death by drowning served as evidence of innocence.
Survival confirmed the person was a witch - having punishment of burning at the stake.

Follow established procedure ppl.!
And there actually was some of them that were burned... that survived the first part of the process.

They stopped collecting tax all on their own. People don't have to really do anything.

Income tax greatly reduced
VAT greatly reduced
Corporate income tax greatly reduced.
Sin taxes gone.
Feul levy greatly reduced.

Government expenditures greatly increased.

I feel sorry for Tito, because he is maybe the only competent minister we have, but the next budget speech is going to be entertaining.

Can we get a permit to protest the cigarette ban on the streets at this time?
