I don't think it is going to change this year...otherwise we would have known about it already. But perhaps maybe next year.Ps. it's all going to change in terms of rewards levels. Just take a look at the structure on FNB Private Banking, it's going to be about the same, much easier to move up in the levels then.
Hmm, looking at my private clients rewards thing -it's VERY different.

As I said it will mimic the example of private Banking as quoted in post above, tell us more![]()
me too, just have it on my profile when I ,login. It would cost too much to get the card (extra monthly spend etc), rather milk it on platI was offered recently but stayed on platinum for my cheque account because of the ebucks I earn on level 5.

Hey guys,
Don't shoot the messenger, but I didn't know of this Account Add-on/Feature, since I never visit branches.
Anyway. FNB have an Account option where you can 'bank your change'. They basically create a Smart Savings Account and all cents left over after a transaction done gets transferred to this account.
Now I don't earn nearly the fraction most of you guys do, but just in a week or so I managed to get R53 worth of cents in this Savings Account.
You can't withdraw from this Account at an ATM, you also can't swipe or transact from it as far as I know, but you can transfer from the Account inbetween your FNB Accounts, so it will always be available.
I hope it helps someone out there who doesn't know of this option and who would like to add it to their banking profile.
Shot.
Actually that private banking rewards points doesn't look very different than what we currently have on gold/plat, with the exception that it looks like they combine the points for cheque and credit card, where currently ebucks levels are separate for cheque and credit card on gold/plat.
I got my cheque account to reward level 5 without using it for spending too much, and only do certain things, like:
- 300 points for savings pocket + bank your change + min of R2000 in pocket
- 300 points for having a mobile device contract, R149 / month for the Nexus 7 was cheap, and I use it
- 100 points for having insurance for my mobile device through FNB
- 100 points for paying R5 for AA road assistance, linked to cheque account, and I have made use of their services in the last month
- 300 points for drawing cash at PNP till instead of at ATM (just need to be more from till than atm)
- 100 points for never going into a branch
- 100 points for using my cheque card to make a purchase on line. I do this via paying my Telkom bill on the Telkom website.
- 100 points for emailed statements
- 100 points for having account open for more than 3 years
That is already 1500 points. You need to get 1550 points per month for 12 months to be on reward level 5, no booster needed. The last few points you can make up by spending like R1000-2000 on your card with swipes, you need to buy groceries ect anyways. It is very easy to be on level 5 without spending too much. Your spending should dictate your ebucks that you get back, not your ebucks reward level.
If you change to private you start back on level 1 and have to build up again (or level 2 if you have a cheque account AND a credit card)
I've got a PB credit card and was considering the change for my cheque account, but I've got a major plan already swung into action to pay for the kids Christmas presents using only ebucks and the 40% discount you get on Makro vouchers![]()
