Just a quick one for those who have FNB accounts.

I understand on Gold your service charge is R92.00 and on Platinum it is R110 per month.

Is that the only service charges you pay or are there other costs coming off your account. Please quote service charges figures when replying. Thanks

I only pay R92 a month for my gold cheque account, which has ebucks and a savings pocket on it.

The only time I paid extra was when I drew cash from my Credit Card :O used the wrong card :p but that is the price on the Credit Card and not the Cheque card.

You will also payt extra if using a non FNB ATM. So avoid doing that.

Also dont let people deposit cash into your bank account via the bank cashiers as your pay a fee for this as well

Just eft and deposit @ atm's

Do you use internet banking with FNB? Was very pleasantly surprised recently, went to draw money and realised I didn't have my Cheque card with me, so decided to just draw using my Credit Card (both FNB). When I inserted the card and keyed in the PIN, it asked me whether I wanted to draw from my Cheque or Credit account :) I think it might be because my account is linked with both cards on the net.

ATM deposits are also expensive, same as depositing at a teller.

False. Fee's are much lower.

https://www.fnb.co.za/channel/atm-with-automated-deposits.html

It saves your business money
•Cheque deposits are FREE
•Cash deposits made at an ATM Advance are cheaper than making a cash deposit in a branch

Is convenient
•Saves you time - you don't have to queue in a branch to make a deposit
•Is available 24/7 - most ATM Advance machines are available outside of normal trading hours

Is simple
•ATM Advance works just like a normal ATM
•It has a user-friendly interface, making it very simple to use

Is safe
•The ATM Advance machine is completely secure. Each transaction has a unique, traceable number for complete piece of mind
•You will receive a proof of transaction slip should there be any queries or concerns

Cash deposits at a bank teller are calculated at 1.25% of the deposit amount, with a minimum of R18-50.
Cash deposits at an ATM are calculated at 0.65% of deposit amount, with a minimum amount of R5-00.

ATM cash deposits reflect on the account immediately, and the cash is also immediately available.

There are no envelopes, having to wait for the money to clear ovr weekends or public holidays, and it is much cheaper than using a bank teller.

I have a gold cheque. ATM deposits is free.

I am also on the Gold Cheque, paid R26 for a R4K deposit yesterday. Last week paid about R14 for depositing R1500. Maybe I use the wrong ATM's, the ones that I use usually count the money automatically. When I used Standard bank I would put in an envelope and then it was free. Those who say it's free, have you used the service? Maybe I should contact FNB and get my money back i.e cash deposit fees

They definitely should have charged you according to the fee schedule.

Over and above the R92 monthly fee, you would pay for notifications on debit orders etc, for example, if you send a fax or sms as proof of payment they would charge you for that, and off course withdrawal from another ATM etc. BUT, you pay R92 a month, but you get E-bucks back, which is sometimes more than the R92 - so basically your monthly bank charges are free :) FNB all the way - I would not change to another bank ever again.

that's why i have easy account linked to cheque card.

It is R5 a month for the account, you can deposit any amount of money , branch or atm for R4 into the account, and inter account transfers are free from an easy account :p

Also withdraw any amount of money at atm for R4.

Just remember you can only get easy account from an Easy plan branch , not sure if normal branches offer it.
