Oh they do like their tricks don't they?

e.g. don't increase the monthly charge for a CC (so it looks good in advertising), but then tag on an extra monthly fee just because they do their jobs?

The eBucks stuff is really not that complex. I just drew up a google spreadsheet based on the rewards rules, and worked out the easiest way to each month earn enough points to be on reward level 5 for the free uncapped and 500MB mobile data. Then after that, it just took a few slight changes to up the amount of ebucks I earn. Most of my shopping is now at Checkers, which btw is where I get most of my eBucks from now, since petrol have a 10% cap of your total swiping/shopping.

I used to get around R250 worth of eBucks a month after they introduced the 10% cap on petrol, the last 2 months that went up to R370 worth of eBucks, this month I should reach R460 worth of eBucks. It was simple things as mentioned, moved shopping to checkers, switched cellphone over to prepaid ect. The only thing I don't do, is the prepaid electricity, and only because I don't know if I will get the return on changing over from postpaid to prepaid electricity, unless the install is free of charge...which I am not sure about.

Hi
Found here -> https://www.fnb.co.za/downloads/pricing-guide/Personal_Pricing.pdf

Lets see how it affects existing customers.
If they've done away with the fee saver option - will definitely downgrade my acccount.

They recently offered me to become a Private Client, and they do have a fee saver option - 100k. I just thanked them, put the phone down and laughed.

I see they have a cheap R5 account I wondering if I can downgrade from my platinum account because I am not paying R145 per month.

I am under the impression petrol currently has a 20% cap and shopping at Checkers has a 30%. Do you have the link of the changes?

no fee saver will definitely make me reconsider banking with them.
If the other banks are smart, this is where they can capitalise

They offered a free funeral policy (worth R15k, IIRC) when I signed up, as well as a free disability cover for your outstanding overdraft. Both were cancelled in recent months. Clearly times are tough in the banking sector :(

You are correct. Double checked the ebucks website, that is what it says. I will have to redo my sums for what I will get this month, but it will still be more than it always used to be. I could never get my CC above level 4, and my cheque got to level 5 without spending anything on it, however the rewards on it is more now. So will still get more this month by just moving all my spending over to the cheque card.

yep, for me, I channel all spend through the cheque card, have definitely reaped the ebucks benefits so far.
For Private Client eBucks earning, they have tightened up from last year, hoping plat will be less so...

I will definitely cancel my account if they remove the fee saver option. Ebucks are no longer what they used to be, and the so called platinum benefits are laughable.

If you qualify for 10% discount on fuel purchases, that means you get 10% back in Ebucks. In real cash terms then its only 1% right?

No, it means that you get 10% of the cash value. So R100 petrol would earn you 100 Ebucks = R10.

Yeah, to much spend with marketing (Steve) adds.
Even though i find the "Eugene" Nedbank adds much more annoying at the moment.

Awe man, no more fee saver option. Very disappointed to hear this.

So FNB Private clients still have this option hey. R100,000 to be in the account at all times. How much interest would you earn on R100,000 per month?
