I initially thought I somehow overspent and made a transfer as I only use my credit card, now I hope that didn't go into the void.

This was me when I saw a balance of R0.

As soneone who works in the IT industry, these types of incidents happen, it's par for the course, but it shouldn't take this long to resolve.

Hours later and still stuck at R0. Absolutely great when my transaction gets declined and yet there is still no message about it being pushed on the fnb app nor is there an SMS. I bet they'll charge for that declined transaction though.

'Soneone' needs to realize it's not the norm nor is playing it off just as **** happens.

I mean imagine if I just down half (or more) of a live system and then carelessly laugh it off.

As someone who works in the IT Industry of course...

Ai shame... why is it always FNB in the news for every technical problem known to man?
Never heard or personally experienced these horror stories with Absa, Standard Bank etc.

Cards being blocked while people are overseas are common or money appearing in their account thats not even theirs mistakenly.
Purchases declining 3 times in a row with sufficient funds available.

At last check SBSA and ABSA have CAT2 windows during the week, CAT1 is strictly limited to when activity is at it lowest which does translate to times outside just the Saturday/Sunday window. Capitecs footprint is a fraction of the others so while they might adhere to the similar scheduling theres much less that can go wrong. Nedbank still uses typewriters :p
Exactly maintenance gets done normally mid-month on a Sunday night between 22:00-4am with the App being down. Cards normally work at all hours.

Obviously there has to be a rollback plan in those morning hours so that they can recover by at least 6am if something does go wrong.

1h20m after that, so it's been over 3 hours since the official FNB tweet, yet no app notification or SMS and it's still at R0.

This also happened to me today. I managed to find an ATM and managed to do an ewallet to myself. I was very embarrassing as both mine and the wife's were declined. Luckily there was an fnb atm close by.

Had no idea about this until a friend shared the article on FB, now I see mine says R0 to,lol. Luckily I only transfer money to my credit card when I am about to use it.

Glad I’ve moved to spending money I actually have

Many people transfer their money to their FNB credit card to earn eBucks, FNB have been pushing this with their app. I set a very small limit and simply transfer to it when I want to get petrol or buy grocery to earn eBucks, luckily I did all that yesterday!

EDIT:
How is this issue affecting FNB Fusion Account holders? FNB keep calling me to offer me this Fusion account but I keep saying No.
