FNB DOUBLE DEBITS

My wife got an SMS this morning to tell her that her account was in overdraft. Please pay in some money.

Sure enough, it was. Why? FNB had decided to double run a scheduled payment of R9000+.

So she phones FNB, and waits, and waits, and waits. Eventually she speaks to CoCo (or one of the other clowns), who sends her a form to fill in for Card Fraud.

Hello! FNB stole her money!

I checked on Facebook, and sure enough there is a notice regarding double debits. FNB, WHY NOT TELL YOUR HELPDESK?

FNB customers, check your accounts before you are placed in an embarressing situation.

I was called this morning by 3 people who had the exact same problem. Debit orders went off yesterday and they were all informed that their accounts were in overdraft. This morning the debit orders ran a second time.

I have just checked the transaction details on the withdrawals, the authorisation date is 1899-11-30.

Watch now. They will also charge you a penalty fee for going over your limit.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

That is so awesome. Sorry to hear about your misfortune, but this probably means somebody at FNB is going to get fired.

You should mention this to @RBJacobs on Twitter!

MyBB is not part of #FNB 's social media monitoring platform.
All complaints will be dealt with.

Damn, left them a couple months back... Fighting with Nedbank just to get my IT3b for my tax return so was thinking about going back but now I'm not so sure.

I think it's unrealistic of them to expect people to email them to resolve this.

This is just harsh! Poor FNB customers!

Wonder how many will jump ship over this? :p

I got double charged for a petrol purchase of R570. Luckily noticed it and had to fill out the reversal form. Money was back in my account within 24 hrs.

I think it's only if you want it resolved as in now. Probably just there to give people peace of mind and a place to vent.

Probably. It sounds as if this problem has affected every single FNB customer in the country, not just a handful so I'm sure they will automatically apply reversals to everyone not just on a case by case basis.
