I need to urgently get money into my Nedbank card today

I noticed that when I transfer money from my FNB, it has a click box which is Pay & Clear now (R36.00) but it states 'to participating banks within 60 minutes'. I guess that it'd tell me what was participating when I clicked it, so I did .... it went through and charged me R36.00

Has anyone used this?
Does it work with Nedbank?
Is logging on in 60 minutes the only way to check it worked?

Yes I've used it a few times to transfer to my Nedbank account. When it worked it was instant, I got an SMS straight away with the transaction details. The times it didn't work was when I tried to transfer after 3pm or something, and on weekends.

I've always wondered why some computer dependent things don't work on weekends...what, do servers go away on weekend trips?

Online processing is shut down for batch runs, maintenance windows etc...

This. People forget that systems require maintenance and upgrades yet complain when things break or go slow.

Nope still R36, a bit excessive if you ask me. I cringe each time I need to use it.

I have used this functionality many a time and I can tell you that nedbank is definitely not a participating bank

They're charging for a feature that should have become the normal standard way long ago.

Yep, a bit like the obscene charges for roaming data.

Anyway, IMO all employers should be forced to use pay&clear now option when transferring salaries.

Jip and just deduct the fee from the employee pay.

Or force all employees to get an account with the same bank as the company.

Or just wait a day for your pay to show.

Just another tweak to enable the bank to make money. The computer does not mind whether the money is transferred now or tomorrow
