I too complained about this. FNB are launching a new product under the premier offering in October called Graphite which sits above platinum and below Private ( R750K - 1.1Mil pa) The unlimited ebucks will apply to this account as well as free entry to the international slow lounge and access ( charged for) to SLOW in the City.

So im guessing theyre diluting the platinum product offering in order to make space and create benefits (which we had already) for graphite account holders. Great way to garner further income and charge more for something we had already.

Google FNB Graphite - first link is to the terms and conditions for card issuing, it pretty much states all of the above in there.

Very interesting!! Might be worth looking at

I'd love to bugger off to Investec... but they won't have my un-degreed ass :( prime -1% on my credit card is the only incentive I'd want... then I'd buy my vehicles, etc on credit card :p

Serious?

I thought if you had the cash, you could get the card regardless of education?

apparently not - the cash amount varies depending on qualification... they phoned and said I qualify...and then asked what my edumacation is... apparently Std 8 means you don't qualify :p You need a degree in your field of employ at my income... It was around triple that without

Of course. Would e stupid of them otherwise

Same as Old Mutual - they refused me a credit card two years ago due to "insufficient proof of income" or something arb. I gave them six months payslips, and an IRP5.

Then go to Standard Bank. Make use of the free account transfer. No need to sit with such pathetic awards offered by FNB.

standard bank has rewards? i obviously have the wrong card...

Side Topic:
Why is Platinum-status considered more valuable than Gold-status, taking onto account that platinum is worth less than gold these days. Don't get me started on the price of graphite...

Just to get some context - why would anyone who has the ability to spend R200k a month on card swipes care about capping of how much eBucks they earn? What, you need the eBucks to top-up your prepaid airtime?

Lmao. Good question

LOL, Seriously, he is k.akking his pristine Calvin Klein onderbroek about being limited to getting R200's worth of eBucks (his onderbroek costs more) a month when he can swipe for R20k+ a month in card transactions? Really??

Maybe he's looking at it from a 'principle pint of view'

Another little known change introduced by FNB as from July:

Previously you were limited to earning a maximum of 50 000 ebucks per month on your FNB personal cheque account.
New limit - maximum earn limit of 5000 ebucks per month on your FNB personal cheque account.

@lcbxx - if the thread is of no interest to you ... don't participate.
I do not mean to state the obvious, but this thread contains you mainly complaining/bitching and the rest, well, not reacting too much to it? What, moaning on Hellopeter is not enough for you?
