So does this mean I should not join FNB, because of e-bucks? Is an e-buck that valuable?

Their reward programme offers flexibility ... but as from July 2012 they have significantly decreased the value ( read crippled ) the programme relative to other card incentive schemes available. Not much point in having lots of redemption options available if you now can no longer actually earn the incentive points with their new caps.

I'd love to bugger off to Investec... but they won't have my un-degreed ass :( prime -1% on my credit card is the only incentive I'd want... then I'd buy my vehicles, etc on credit card :p

Investec is a seriously dodgy institution..good luck

reading that, it looks like Graphite is the new Platinum, and Platinum is the new Gold.

I heard rumours about this graphite offering.

Any links with the detailed pricing breakdown?

for those interested in the Graphite Product - heres the link.
R345 per month, seems very expensive.

LOL @ R150 000 overdraft facility!
Yeah that is one way to royally screw yourself over with credit.
I think it is safe to assume, this account is for execs or someone with a big business of their own. My bet is, you need to earn close to at least 80k per month for this account, if not more than 100k.

Though, I must say, lucky bastards get uncapped ebucks rewards, and 15% back on gautrain fees.

Sorry to derail a bit but how the hell are you guys earning so many ebucks?

I have a platinum card, I purchase roughly R2000.00 diesel every month and spend roughly R5000 a month on card swipes and I only get about 80 ebucks every month.

What am I doing wrong here?

R5000 spend should give you 500 EBucks. Check the rules. Utilise your cards to maximise your score. Do this for 12 months
to get to 15% EBucks rebate on fuel.

80 seems way too low. You need to activate a couple options on your account to get more fuel rewards, e.g. check the box that allows them to contact you for marketing, have credit card linked to your account, request you statements electronically, update your details once a year etc.

Got marketing activated
There credit card is far too expensive
Statement come electronically already
Currently update my details yearly or more

I think FNB are just saying screw their clients who cares. There functionality is great etc but they actually just dont give a **** about anyone.

so the deal goes like this.. Annual Earnings of 750K Gross

Min monthly deposits to ensure rewards are earned = R32500 per month
FNB are stating the product is by invite only and hence the hidden page on the website. They keep telling me the product has not launched yet, however im not sure i believe it.
I was earning roughly 10 000 e bucks a month before they capped plat spend and hence was pushing for Graphite. R345 a month does sound steep though and it has exclusions.

R5000 per month on credit card equals R50 of EBucks. Use the credit card and you soon pay of the charge

I use CC for every purchase, including municipal accounts. I have not drawn cash from an autoteller for over 5 years. What do you need cash for?

Yeh - I'd only go for it if they could beat my ABSA bond interest rate, and I can close my ABSA accounts.

the limit management functionality for secondary cards is a plus as well - just not sure why that would cost more money as it has been available to corporate card holders for a very long time already. the functionality will probably filter down to the other products over time anyway.

I would go for it if there was a fee saver option like they have on the platinum account.
