R5000 per month on credit card equals R50 of EBucks. Use the credit card and you soon pay of the charge

I use CC for every purchase, including municipal accounts. I have not drawn cash from an autoteller for over 5 years. What do you need cash for?

Parking at some malls...

Yeah, how many times has that happened, walking out the mall... No money for parking, Walk to an ATM, can only draw 100, end up with a chunk 'o change that can pull, your pants down.

So much irritation and frustration for nothing,

PUT UP PARKING MACHINES THAT TAKE CARDS YOU ASS HOLES.

so the deal goes like this.. Annual Earnings of 750K Gross

Min monthly deposits to ensure rewards are earned = R32500 per month
FNB are stating the product is by invite only and hence the hidden page on the website. They keep telling me the product has not launched yet, however im not sure i believe it.
I was earning roughly 10 000 e bucks a month before they capped plat spend and hence was pushing for Graphite. R345 a month does sound steep though and it has exclusions.

From FNB:
We do not have anything in a document format at the moment.

This offering has been put on hold at the moment due to a few technical glitches which we are ironing out.

We should be launching it by February next year.

etc etc.

Was this from your Premier Banker? i don't think anything is communicated very well within FNB, if you call card division they will tell you its available already.

The benefits seem quite great, but im wary. They usually launch with great benefits and hook many in. Then comes year 2 and every year thereafter when benefits are reduced (capped, reduced, or crappy hybrid schemes) or fees increased dramatically

Many years ago I used to be with Investec. They hooked many in with a R50 total bank charge. In literally 3 years it went to over R300 pm.

Then I moved to FNB- same story- great ebucks scheme (no limitations), free FNB ATM etc etc. after that crappy ebuck limitations, limited ATM withdrawals and above inflationary bank charge increases EVERY YEAR!

Think I need CAPITEC or something really cheap, and with the saved money create my own ebucks/reward scheme :)

Yup, im in agreement with you. The unlimited free cash withdrawals was used as a hook in the above line campaigns last year to get customers to switch and then came the annual price review and it was suddenly changed to 6 free cash withdrawals. not that cash is a major driving factor for me.

i am however surprised that they are charging more than they charge their private clients for something that offers the same benefits yet is of lower 'status' if you can call it that.

and it costs at least double what Platinum does so as far as I could tell its not worth it.

I think for graphite you need to earn between 600k and 1.1bar a year

I think it requires you to earn R750k per year or more. They told me that is the threshold for having a premier banker assigned to you.

Interesting that they do not mention how much it costs. They always like to hide that.

I think I remember a figure of R325 per month for the account.... I might be wrong though since they've hidden the costs on the Graphite site now.

thanks guys...

going through it, i dont really see any value in it... it has 1 or 2 addons to what platinum offers and the plat acc actually works for me... why pay so much a month!!!

It costs R345 per month. This includes your cheque account, credit card and linked petro card.

The platinum account will cost R145 for cheque account, R63 for credit card and R20 for linked Petro card, for a total of R228 per month.

So to upgrade to the graphite package costs you R117 per month. Not sure if it is worth the extra money? If you fly frequently the up to 5 airport transfers could be worth it. The credit card interest rate I was offered was 5% lower than on platinum.

Yeah, that was roughly my maths as well...

Would have cost more than R100 extra pm and I couldn't see the value in the extra cost. I don't fly often enough for it to be worthwhile for me.

All they're doing is replacing what used to be their platinum offering

really not worth it imo, would rather take the Private Client route for same amount of cash and better benefits...
