Hi there,

Has anyone got a link or brochure from FNB that outlines all the savings accounts options and interest rates for investments (fixed, deposit, money market, tax free, etc) all in one neat place/brochure/table.

I looked at the FNB website--you need to open one at a time.

Why do you wanna do investing/saving via a bank.

If you have 100k, go tymebank at 7%, you can invest R10 (and nothing is fixed)

Show me a better rate...

Do banking at banking. Do investing at investing.

Banking invest your money, giving you “scraps”... and then you rave!

Some might ask, then why do I invest with Tyme. Well, unit July their savings was 10%, now 7%.

Looking at banks interests rates like FNB... you can do much better!

I think the big "problem' is many of us do not know how to invest--the basics starts with savings, but taking risks at the high end of the investment spectrum is why we do not want to risk it all; like many novel moves, we all need to learn slowly but surely. Secondly, We also want the money available quickly in case we need it for a rainy day--so locking it up somewhere far (oversees investments) is not easy.

But I agree with you, invest with groups that know about investments...many out there. And bank with a bank...Tyme gives me a little bit of both.

Ok, if you have R100 000 .... or R40 000 ... open up a tyme account.
Take now my advice, open up a Tyme account, it takes 5 min online.
After opening it, open up 10 savings accounts.
And transfer R10 from your current account into the Tyme main account, and from there R1 in each goalsave.

You will start at 4% (in month 1, for the year), and after 3 months its 6% + 1%
Nothing is fixed, you can WITHDRAW now.

I assume you are banking with Tyme as I read now your last sentence before read your full reply.

I say always, why invest via a broker (who takes fees). If S H I T hits the fan, its out of his hand, and he still gets paid.

Rather pay yourself (and put the little risk in your own hands).

Hello,

Can anyone assist me please?

I’m trying to see how to open multiple “Savings Pockets” or free savings accounts, so I have multiple spaces I can save money in?

Investec offers this (cash management account), and my N26 European account offers this (saving spaces).

Can anyone assist me with how to do this on FNB?

Basically want a savings account for goals “Overseas Trip”, “Wedding Savings”, “Rainy Day Fund” etc.

Move on over to Capitec or Tyme Bank. With FNB you can only have one pocket linked to your account AFAIK.

That’s just crazy!!! Flip

Discovery Bank also have options for multiple savings, FNB are sleeping here!?

It’s nice to have one place to login and see all your financial information on all accounts.

It also shows the bank that you have extra money etc. which helps towards your rewards points, approvals on loans etc.
