Focus ST vs 135i

No need for an argument when the facts are clear: 125i = 3 liter aspirated; 135i = 3 liter turbo

no man no argument, was merely refering to the fact that we already pointed that out, just slipped my mind...fought the 125i had a blower...but who cares anyway, sounds good though...so Dolby beat a 125i, he's supposed to, what happened with the Dolby vs JK9 debacle...

How is it that the 125 = 3.0 litre NA, provides only 160kW compared to a 330 with the same engine which provides 190kW. Did they deliberately reduce the engine's revving ability? And then why not just put the 2.5 litre NA engine of the 325 in the 125?

I remember when they went from 325i to 328i (2.5 to 2.8) in the late 90s.

BMW mentioned they'd be too close in everything (power, badging, status etc) so they simply detuned the 2.5 engine and baded it as a 323i.

I think they're doing something similar now.

I've driven the 125i, it is desperately in need of a turbo, you have to rev the nuts off to get it going.

Having a T5 or any car with a turbo is a much more civilised way of driving. The Honda Civic Type R, also NA, is a great looking car, but if you've got to drive around doing 7,000rpm all the time, then it's not for me.

hehe ... yea you're right ;) Wanted to see if others would come and maybe dispute.

The 125i is actually pretty decent though (3.0 engine , 160KW/270nm). This particular one had an exhaust (not sure what else).

Towards end of 2nd, he was 2 car lengths back - with 2 in my car.

Was that without the ECU change you were planning? If it is without, then you get extra bonus points!

Was planning this month, but other expenses popped up :( I may have to wait till February .... and I'm just itching.
