Big food price hikes coming for South Africa

The average cost of a monthly food basket for South African households has increased by 8.6% in one year, higher than the figure reported by Stats SA.

Primarily due to fuel price hikes in 2021, the cost of food in South Africa is expected to continue on an upward trajectory in 2022.

Not only in this country. USA and Europe too. Food shortages will be the next "pandemic".
 
On which date were the prices gathered? Is it only me that keeps paying more for the same items or the package size reduced for the same price! Energy and Fuel increases WILL be disastrous for the majority of South Africans.
 
None of my colleagues have a household of seven. Max is 5 if I recall.
