Food truck - can you just arrive somewhere and start selling?

Hi guys

A friend of mine has a food truck and has a licence to operate and food acceptability licence. I wanted to ask if any of you you know the laws regarding just pulling up at a public location and selling food from the food truck?

She was thinking of parking in a spot in cape town cbd and selling for a few hours and then moving on.

Any help would be much appreciated as we are struggling to find out if this is ok.

No, it depends on local bylaws.

You probably need permission or some type of permit.

I have seen plenty of food shacks here in PE on the pavements in the Industrial areas. Not sure if the by-laws apply to these also or only to the fancy food trailers.
