Suitable thread for this monstrosity.

This is classic bait-and-switch PR nonsense to try and placate fans in the middle of United’s worst ever PL season. Anyone with some objectivity can see that the club are in over 1B pounds of debt/owed transfer payments, have seen revenues decline and profits decline over the last 4-5 years, are looking at their playing squad getting even worse next season, and Ratcliffe himself claimed that without making the cuts they’ve made, the club would be broke by Christmas 2025.

Yet despite all of this, they’re going to get to work building a brand new big-top circus tent stadium that is estimated to cost over 2B quid (guaranteed it will be much more than this - see Spurs’ new stadium)??? They will claim that the whole thing relied on government subsidies and tax breaks, and because the government didn’t come through it’s had to be scrapped. We see this sort of nonsense happen all over the world - but it will generate some short-term revenue and good will for the United owners, and that’s all they care about.

Ratcliffe has already said the project will need to be supplemented with public funding, specifically for the work that needs to be done around the stadium.

They are following the American model of stadium building where the local major league franchise pressures the city to help fund a new stadium for the benefit of the city (public). And in the US, usually the only long-term benefit is an improvement to public transportation in the immediate vicinity of the stadium.

They may yet get their stadium with the help of public funds, but it will be something greatly scaled down.

And the Glazers will pocket the 1b of the 2b required...

Crashes out from winning a trophy the 2nd time, hopefully Liverpool make it 3 out of 3 for a clean sweep.

Shame, poor Jacky cannot do basic counting or tell time

Bless them

Poor lad is a Man CIty fan so counting might nott be his stong suite.
I thought the FA CUP was 2019 but see it was 2020, but Arsenal still have a few months to win something otherwise his statement becomes true. (Hope Real Madrid loose in the Champions League)

Community Shield is also a trophy (yes, I know people say it’s not when Arsenal win it, but is when another team wins it, and they’ll count all the “super cups”)

3-1 :)
Community Shield is only counted if your club wins it otherwise it doesn't count. This year it's City's claim that they didn't finish the season trophiless, the claim all other fans will deny

apparently it's possible for 11 Prem teams to qualify for Europe if results go a certain way.

99% chance of 5 being in CL

3 in Europa and 3 in Conference?
If Villa and United win their European tournament and finish out of the top 5, there'll be 7 in the UCL.
Chelsea and drop out European places win the Europa Conference and Crystal Palace win the FA cup and placement qualifier for Europa makes it 10
If Newcastle drop out off out the European places they still get Europa for winning the EFL cup. that's 11 in total.

True, besides the teams fighting relegation, that mid-table could be turned upside-down by end of season. Just 8 points separating 4th from 11th.
