Well, if there is a bright spot in all of this, it's all the United fans wearing their City kit online this week.
Comedy gold.
huh?

United Fans: Glory, glory Man United!
Also United fans: Well, you know, mathematically City can still win the league... Can't just *give* it to Liverpool, can you now?
Isn't it accurate?
United fan, huh?
You should be more worried about Sheffield who are two points behind you, with a game in-hand.
Yes I am, but that shouldn't matter the fact is mathematically Liverpool can still lose the league. As for your deflecting regarding Sheffield if the season is cancelled it doesn't matter.
As Hamish has just pointed out in the Liverpool thread, by *exactly* the same math and logic, United are relegated.
Look, I know it'll be tough for United fans in the Championship next year but, you know, "mathematically".
I cant argue with that, hopefully it will only be one season in the Championship and we will be back. Supersport does cover those matches too.

Umm, actually not, because that logic applies to all the other teams below United. Which means that they will still end up below United and thus United will not be relegated. As Hamish has just pointed out in the Liverpool thread, by *exactly* the same math and logic, United are relegated.
And, historically, Liverpool will fark up winning the league.
So, now you have maths + history = certainty.
Therefore it will be totally wrong if Liverpool awarded the trophy.
A United fan weighs in to make my point... Thanks Splinter, you're a pal!
Look. From next season they'll start making provisions/regulations for pandemics. For now cancel the whole thing and start over. There's a precedent for everything.

Sigh. Liverpudlians and their crude grasp of mathematics....
So, mathematically City can get 30 points and catch Liverpool if the reds lose all of their remaining games.
But...
Villa on 25 can't pick up 30 and get to 55... or West Ham, Watford and Bournemouth on 27 can't pick up 27 and get to 54.
...and beat United who are on 45... If you lose all your remaining games.
The same scenario you're assuming for Liverpool?
Sure.
Math is hard.

Apparently, reading is as well. I said the losing logic can be applied to other teams below us. Besides, I also said mathematics plus history.
Liverpool has a peculiar and rather unique history![]()
As I've said in the Liverpool thread. You're "awarding" Liverpool and maybe other clubs, but punishing others. Also, what you and Hamish are missing, is that you are agreeing then that weird and wonderful things could happen still.
Which means awarding of a trophy, that has not been won yet, cannot happen.
