Well, when the westerners or haters do the same, we typically get a nod of heads here amongst the with the typical TIA comments.

So why do you have a problem with it being harnessed in a good way. Just in case you didn't realise....TIA

I don't generally take TIA comments seriously.

And I don't have an issue with harnessing it in a positive way, but it just strikes me as very arbitrary. Being on the same landmass as someone really doesn't mean anything.

Heartbreaking for Algeria, especially after that late goal.

However, Deutschland! Fick ja!

Not as odd as people staying up until the wee hours of the morning watching 22 men pass a ball around a ground with their feet.

Or as arb as our team selection in the premier league? You can't explain it.....peoples are weird.

I don't see the Dutch supporting the Germans, for instance, just because they're on the same continent. I know of a few poms who were supporting Algeria in this match. I have no emotional attachment to any country in Africa outside of RSA. The only reason I might support another African country is because they're the underdog, not because I'm particularly drawn to them...

Basically, Nigeria and Algeria highlight the strengths and weaknesses of pretty much every African team.

Physically, few can match them. They can out-muscle and out-run the finest footballers around. However, when it comes down to needing that little bit of class and composure at the business end of the pitch they come up woefully short. Both Nigeria and Algeria were able to hustle their opponents but absolutely fluffed their chances. Yes, Neuer and Lloris are not exactly mugs, but the opportunities were there, as they always are when an African side is involved, but no dice. Quite frustrating.

Something needs to be done about holding in the box during corners. How on earth Evra got away with wrapping his arms around Peter Odemwingie is beyond me. The guy could not even move and it was in plain sight. Blatant penalty.

Time to start dishing out yellow cards and penalties. If you have to hand out 5 yellows and 5 penalties a game then so be it, but eventually they will learn.

Agreed. Nigeria absolutely owned that right hand side of the pitch, yet they couldn't capitalise on their chances.

Salvador - Cameroon are to investigate claims that seven of their players were involved in match-fixing at the World Cup, the country's football federation FECAFOOT said on Monday.

FECAFOOT said it had instructed its ethics committee to probe allegations of what it described as “fraud” in their three games in Brazil, particularly a 4-0 loss to Croatia in Manaus in their second Group A game.

“Recent allegations of fraud around Cameroon's three 2014 World Cup games, especially Cameroon v Croatia, as well the existence of “seven bad apples (in our national team)” do not reflect the values and principles promoted by our administration,” FECAFOOT said in a statement.

“We wish to inform the general public that, though not yet contacted by Fifa in regards to this affair, our administration has already instructed its Ethics Committee to further investigate these accusations.

The Algerians gave the Germans a massive wake up call.

They played like champions. Even the German goalie was forced to play as a defender.

Epic game.

Swiss have to be careful... if Argentina maintain such a high % possession they will put a few away.
