If you notice, games are a lot tighter now. Teams are trying to defend rather than outscore the opposition. Its only tired legs at the end that frays the defence.

Btw, anyone notice how 'clean' this game was relative to some of the others we've watched.

Definitely noticed that. Didn't see any diving or theatrics. Players mostly tried to stay on their feet and have a go.

Very refreshing to watch.

Yay! Glad the Yanks are out! Pity the Swiss lost out though. I knew Argentina would win but wouldn't have minded that upset

Strictly speaking Germany will be a first time winner as well. Previous 3 was all West Germany.
