you got it wrong....noone is saying whites should be selected on the basis of race only (as blacks are)....we saying that it is a "fact" that there are a wealth of deserving white, coloured and indian players out there. Why are they not selected? simply becoz black gets preferential treatment in such matters....

im not interested in your percentages....its not about 5 or 8 players in the team its about knowing that there are so many players in the Bafana team taking up space for more deserving players....

They should not be basing selection on the population percentage of a certain race....period.

Which are these mysterious Coloureds/Whites and Indians are you talking about?

Administration destroys our soccer team. The football association has no interest in promoting and installing a proper grassroots program for football. They would rather not spend any funds on anything and just coin up the profits that they can plunder from the funds for themselves.

I would actually like to see soccer schools get set up in all provinces for potential young stars coming through and at the same time that they are educating them in football they should also be educating them in general schooling. If the youngster doesn't make the cut then they could maybe push them into coaching or becoming a referee. If they don't make it at all no harm no foul as they will leave with an education anyway. These schools then could become feeders for clubs or varsity teams.

Anyway just a pipe dream that I would love to see happen.

go back, i've listed atleast 4 to name a few....

just to name a few.....

ryan dejong
doutie

Michael Morton
Danny Guselli

In 1996, when Bafana Bafana won the African Cup of Nations, the country was ranked 16th in the world. We had a fantastic blend of players. There was the strength of the white players and the flair of the black players.

You listed players for the sake of their skin colour. What have they done to deserve a place in the team? Playing for Maritzburg United? I thought merit was the sole requirement?

Furman, Davide Somma, Steven Pienaar, Bernard Parker, Mathew Booth, Moneeb josephs, Kermit Erasmus, Daine Klate have all played for Bafana in the past 3 years.

Can we get back to discussing the World Cup now?

Create a new thread or go discuss this race bs somewhere else.
When we click on this thread we expect it to be world cup relevant. Seeing as Bafana is not there I think discussing their team here is off topic and I'm sure there are threads better suited to that.

Well it is do or die time for Spain tonight and its against a difficult opponent in Chile. I think Spain will win it but it will be a close game. Netherlands should beat the socceroos about 3-0

Agree - I think Spain forgot that were actually playing the team they met in the last WC final.

Reckon we'll see a different Spain tonight.
