Force HSDPA

Hi, I have been having very erratic behavior from my cell c black modem for months now, some days it flies (usually only between midnight and 6 am) but most of the time it is extremely slow, and unusable. It does not even surprise me anymore to get 10k+ ping to europe and <10kbps up and download. My signal usually is around -55dbm, tonight it says >= -51dbm, yet my speed is terrible.

I am sick and tired of slow customer support, that takes 2 weeks to fix a problem, only to have it reappear a few days later.

So.. I noticed that my speeds are terrible when it is on HSPA+ and a bit better when it is on HSDPA.

TL:DR?
I would like to force my black cell c modem to use HSDPA, is this at all possible and how?

There must be something wrong with your tower. How is your Cell C internet performance when you move to a different location? My RSSI is -87dbm and I get between 1 and 2Mbps. I don't know about forcing your modem to HSDPA though, sorry.

I am using this, but this is not what I am looking for. I currently force WCDMA with the software, but under that it prefers HSPA+ most of the time, I want to use HSDPA.

Last night again from midnight everything suddenly worked fine, now I have to force EDGE to do anything. According to Cell C my tower is fine, and if I have to go through troubleshooting again I'm going to go mad (Done it 6 times). My modem is also fine, I tested that independently.

To clarify:
I would like to force HSDPA under WCDMA, and not use HSPA+ at all.

I don't think it is possible, and even if it was, I don't believe it would do what you think it would.

Apart from switching between 2G/GSM/GPRS/EDGE and 3G/UMTS/HSDPA/HSPA+ which is really switching between two distinct networks, switching between 3G and HSDPA and HSPA+ is only really showing you what technologies are being used at the time. If your connection is idle, it will show 3G, if you start downloading it will show HSDPA and if you are downloading and uploading it will show HSPA+.
