I am no programmer, but logic tells me to try the following. [;)]

Have problems with modems that pick up multiple towers and try to connect to the wrong one ........[:(!]

....... my solution ...... delete offending network sectors from registry and force modem to connect to the correct tower. [;)]

2506000
2518000
2530000

Is this workable ?
Where do I find it in the registry ? [?]

While this seems feasible the origional firmware version on the modem did not really listen to the "suggestions" from the registry. I cannot speak for the newer firmware... one only hopes it has improved...

Can the changes therefor be made in the firmware ?

Why is it so difficult for them to just put a toggle field in the dialer that allows the user to choose a tower when the software of MW is selecting the wrong or useless tower to connect to ?[?]

That Draadloos is sadly one of the many questions that will remain unanswered ... Ask Sentech ;-)

The guys at No wire have mentioned the exact same method to selct a different tower by editing the registry. I tried it and it made no difference at all, Ok admittedly, I tried different things and eventually removed all of the strings and then I didnt connect at all. Obviously... but there seems to be consensus that this method will work.

I have noticed that it makes a difference sometimes if you change the settings on the installation files (ie operator.ini etc) before installing the software on your PC - but that obviously means that you have to copy the cd to hdd before installing. Also, reboot the PC before connecting again.

The true test of character is not how much we know how to do, but how we behave when we don't know what to do.

While it is contained in the firmware "we" don't have access to fix this....

One can only hope that IPWireless includes that "single" tower select in an upcomming firmware release - personally I doubt we will ever see it. This problem should slowly but surely dissapear as Sentech roll additional towers - IF they roll enough additional towers.
