From what I've read, Ford removed that feature.
That's BS that you need to take it to a dealership to activate it. Most of the other cars I've had you could activate it via the onboard computer. It definitely still has the feature. Just take it to your nearest Ford dealership and they will activate it for you.
I worked for a Ford dealership in 2019 and we had this issue with all the Titanium models (of the Ecosports). There was a reason behind it which I cannot remember now, but it needs to be activated during the PDI, but normally this doesn’t happen because most technicians just rush through it.
my thoughts exactly - even my aging 1995 e36 bmw can lock the doors when the ignition is turned on.Dumb move in a country like SA.
she did take it for a service yesterday and specifically asked them to activate the auto lock - they said they did but it still does not work.It definitely still has the feature. Just take it to your nearest Ford dealership and they will activate it for you.

Smart move in a car that catches on fire.Dumb move in a country like SA.
ironically you can set the auto UNLOCK via the onboard computerThat's BS that you need to take it to a dealership to activate it. Most of the other cars I've had you could activate it via the onboard computer.

I live "oppie plaas", but surely if you feel unsafe it's not that much effort to reach pass your shoulder?
