Ramlall said some of the “white people and their children” were terrified and left. The man allegedly also tried to push Ramlall’s wife Rekha and assault her brother, well-known lawyer Ajay Sooklal.

Why did they attend Diwali, curiosity? I guess they all live in the same complex, so... was their permission to have the celebration? It is ultimately the city and body corporate which must give allow the activity within the legal spectrum.

Race this, race that. Get it on a recording.

I agree with @EADC . If pops and lights amuses your small mind you should go blow it away from others. It shouldn't be done in a residential area.

"Some People" have waaay too many rules for what you should do on YOUR property.

I know right its not cool blowing crackers in a residential area.

Joburg bylaws state they can between 7pm to 10pm. In the article they stated the start time, so they were not doing anything wrong. Assuming Tshwane bylaws are similar...

Its still not cool just because the by laws bow to "my religion" doesn't mean I have to sit through a ****ing war zone.

Its festival of lights not festival of trying to recreate Vietnam

Also depends on the rules of the complex, I get an e-mail letter every year stating that fireworks are banned anywhere inside our estate.
