Eskom is f***ed. Maybe.

Former Eskom chief André de Ruyter said in his newly-released book that the more he scrutinized Eskom’s inner workings, the more he felt like it was broken beyond repair.

He made the strongly-worded statement in his typical De Ruyter-esque way without saying it directly, in a chapter of the book titled “We are f***ed. Maybe.”

Imagine getting over R550k monthly for 3 years to just look around and take notes that you can turn into a book.

dude please, there are literally hundreds, thousands(!) of people just looking around at Eskom, doing jack diddly squat, watching it all burn down. What do you think is currently happening there right now, now that De Ruyter is gone and the WEEKEND was another Stage 5 weekend? lol The guy has done something truly valuable and shon a light on it all, amongst much more.

It's views like yours about what management does that lie behind the problems at state-owned enterprises. Like you, the ANC government doesn't have a clue what executive management actually does or is meant to do. Sad. But SA's reality.
