Former Gautrain techie gets 10 years for installing spyware to steal millions

rookie mistake,
but still doing it on a Work laptop? surely he thought of that?
Lot of people get caught doing shady stuff of work infrastructure, including things as "mundane" as storing porn.

And I fail to see how they would've lost the money. Money is a digital entry, all Gautrain would have done is go to the bank and say hey, reverse these payments none of them were made by us.
It was potential loss nevertheless.

Have a look at the fraud that has occurred with ABSA and MTN - ABSA (and all of the banks actually) refuse to help.

Once the money has been paid out, that's it, it is gone. They will (almost) never recover it for you.

In a separate matter, Busang was allegedly also involved in defrauding the SA Post Office of R42 million between December 2011 and January 2012.

No proper background check before being hired at the Gautrain department?

And if that money had been laundered through 100 third party capitec accounts, it would likely no longer be available.
