Haai Jacques - you a comrade too. Welcome man..

It's IOL but yes the bank has to explain. Deny if the transactions took place or explain how it is that they took place without red flags.

I really thought it was foreign currency that was stolen so did the suspects deposit dollars into their foreign currency accounts? Very strange.

In paragraph 13.18 of his statement to the police, Arthur Fraser writes:

“The alleged suspects had thereafter commenced spending the stolen loot on various high-end purchases and cash deposits into bank accounts.”

In an attached copy of a handwritten note compiled by one of the investigators in the team, constituted by Major General Rhoode, marked “AF 16” on Fraser’s statement, must be assumed to be FNB deposits.

Shocked.

The banks are in kahoots with the cadres. They don't want to rock the boat with the ruling government....

There's no evidence which I've seen to the effect that FNB did nothing about this. The bank's responsibility is to report suspicious activities to the FIC, they aren't supposed to refuse to accept the deposits or to refuse to transfer the funds. As I understand it, only once the FIC determines that the funds are suspicious would the bank then freeze them and possibly freeze the account as well.

All FNB should need to do right now is confirm whether they submitted suspicious activity reports to the FIC and acted as per financial services procedures around this.

Seems like. It would be a boon if he could spill some of RET's **** too.

P.S Would be hilarious if he can spill on EFF.
