Looks as though the Guys down under have similar things to say:
"I have had it for a few months now
I have been on ISP and then Chilli
They both provide the same level of service in my opinion (same speeds)
I have tested it mainly Chatswood, St Leonards and North Ryde
They are all pretty slow. All these places I get a good 100% signal
but the speed are pretty sucky. Fluctuating between 40kbps - 150 kbps most of the time - and thats what the software says - it still feel much slower than that
BTW, I am on the 1MB/s plan wth both of these providers
I can sum the iBurst service up like this:
It's a nice wireless extra for people that need internet access on the go but it sure as hell aint no replacement for real broadband internet.

We have IBurst through Ozemail.
We are unable to:
* load websites like google.com
* view email on gmail.com
* send email on iiNet webmail
* log into internet banking or any https secure site.
But have no problems browsing many websites like The Age or posting messages on whirlpool.
The same computer can do all these transactions on a different broadband connection but as soon as we log back into IBurst the problems start. Nevertheless I checked all security setting and set to always accept cookies, turn security to lowest setting, turned off the firewall, but all to no avail.
Is this due to the iBurst network?
Or is it due to interference from the hospital?
Is there a solution?
The computer is used by a friend who is in hospital for several months so it is a pain in the proverbial.
Any tips or suggestions are greatly appreciated!
and this:
can netbank, google, browse etc, I can connect to the vpn, load notes, and receive mail, I just can't send, notes just times out on the send, also gmail, recieves fine, but again fails on the send.
I tried the 1454 MTU settings, but still no joy.
I am using the Netscreen Remote v 8.0.0 VPN Client, this works, over 802.11 a/b/g, dialup and dsl, just not over iBurst :-(

Well, it is Sunday. I just waited 1 minute for thescore.com.au to load to see that I picked 5 winners for this weekend's lugby league games. I then went to the oztips.com site and it took 1 minute to load too. I reckon that something is amiss still with iBurst/I.S.P. at the moment - maybe I am getting shaped.
Mark, what criteria do you use to shape people? What is considered excessive bandwidth? 20gb? 30gb?
It is a good thing I still have the "bugger this" attitude and look forward to the wine flowing down my throat faster than the rate of transfer that I am experincing from nokia.com.
lol and we are so alike: [You would think huh? I personally prefer that the "if you go pass xx GB, you'll get shaped to 64K"
However under the "ISP Acceptable Use Policy" shaping "depends on numerous factors, our network utilisation, if you have been shaped before, what type of traffic your doing, what side of the bed I got out on, wether I have a hangover." ]
FYI those AUSSIE'S have over 87,000 members on that forum!!!
There is plenty more to read its just so sloow right now!!!
I believe it is UUNET THO
