Found a Crab in my driveway, please explain this to me.

We have similar crabs coming out of our storm water drain, and straight into a dam.

I found a crab in my pool a year or so ago. Was also quite surprised!

Figured it was a bird or something that dropped it there, as we live less than a kilometer from a dam.

EDIT: Plus it lost one pincer, so I assumed it had broken off in the bird's mouth

We will, for now we got him in an old fish tank with sand and some fresh water.

If the crab is from the Vaal, I would have rather put sewage water in the tank, they cant handle clean water, there is none in the area
