My mom found a frog (or toad, not sure what difference is)...just a padda for us tappets by the back kitchen door a week ago. Poor thing must have been looking for water. This is in Vredendal, the place that recorded the highest temp on earth October 2015. She said she has filled a big bowl of cool water and put it down for him/her. She sees it every now and then and keeps changing the water hoping that it will get in every now and then to cool down and dont dry out.

Wife wants to keep him, already went and bought him some food. They live off bait used for fishing, specifically the mealie meal stuff called Super cast. Found him a nice cool spot in the atrium next to the fish pond.
