My mom came across this little fellow yesterday. They put buckets by the gutters to capture the rain they have been receiving the last few days in Vredendal. She and my gran were chatting when they noticed him in the bucket. Mom scooped him out thinking that maybe he drowned seeing that he most likely could not get out of the bucket again after jumping in to cool down. The little fellow was very much alive and when she put him down was jumping around all over the place. They have now put shallow containers down for him all over the yard so that he has no lack of cooling down placed and to rehydrate. Vredendal is 40 degrees on average many days so not sure how he survives. They think he lives underneath the Pepper Trea where there is lots of shade. Poor thing. Hope he makes use of the little oasis they have created for him
