Carter also marvelled at the Durban youngster's "impressive" efforts from 60m, 57m and 52m, saying they required a mix of timing and power possessed by few.

Man, oh Man! That was some hoofing by the Human Mule. :D

Going to miss his mop of hair running wildly round Kings Park. :(

I would like to see steyn break the record at 64.2 m. It really isnt much further than what he is kicking at the moment. Perhaps the team just needs to give him the opportunity. One thing is for sure, he needs to come home soon. Hopefully Jean and him just go for a year.

Part of me thinks its best if we do leave them out of the springbok team as it stops others from also going. But at the same time i would like Steyn to get game time at fullback so he can grow into the position. He has greatness written all over him. Not a bad 12 either, i'm sure with age he will learn to pass ;).

What concerns me if England wanted to sabotage SA rugby ahead of the next world cup all they need to do is buy 8-9 of our top Springboks. They could do the same to NZ and suddenly if the draw suited them they could have an easier run to the final, just saying, un-lightly it would ever happen but the threat to our team is very real...

You got Jean and Francois playing abroad already, all they need now is Fourie Du Preez and maybe Morne and that's the better half of our back line...

If it were a worldcup year our coach would definitely pick Du Preez and a few others. They couldn't stop our players from playing, as i'm sure all of them would make sure their contracts included a line indicating they had to be released for springbok duty. The glory of successive world cup wins is as big a carrot as you get.

This would also apply to new zealand. Let someone try steal richie and carter at the same time, and see how quick they change their policies.

lol, they calling him the rocket launcher now, but still prefer his drops from his own half. That one against the blues in Auckland was the monster!
