there's many things for that, the simplest is sound recorder that comes with windows? a vERY GOOD audio editor, would be Audacity http://audacity.sourceforge.net
i'm a DJ and use it for various tasks. works great and its free

I did but they all seem to be "Free Trials" anyway maybe this thread will help another person in the future

hey i was kidding. its cool. http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ is not trial version, and it works nice

I also used audacity before i got something else. Very nice, record guitar or anything well
