I so don't agree they are loosing money even if they pushed the speed to 1G/second, please explain how they, the ISP are loosing money, if they were, they would have been in court day 1, hour 1 fighting any attempt at a speed increase.. From an accounting background, if it was such an issue, why have we not reverted back to the glory days of dial up when we paid by time unit consumed and not what is in essence a single month long session???
No you're right. ISPs sprinkle some magic dust on an FNO's contract and poof - INTERNET!!! It's a wonder not more people print money like this! Rent, staff, consulting costs, datacentre space, power, carrier grade hardware, finance, multiple backhaul and international transit costs are all imaginary too - I'm sure your accounting background knows that. Network engineers are the kindest on the planet - did you know they work for free? And don't forget all the "freebies," like routers, activations, installations and more - I know a guy, who knows a guy, who knows a guy who gets those for free. How dare ISPs charge you for something you use, based on how much of it you use? While we're at it, let's ask Eskom for uncapped electricity too.
