Seems like my Openserve line got downgraded back to 20mbps. Now it is 20/20
Im guessing telkom wont adjust my bill automatically
Says that 20/20 Premium is R849 instead of R999 that 20mbps HomeUnlimited used to be.
Dunno why they had to go down and back up again for customers who opted in to stay on speeds. In the process they bricked my OTN and now I am also having to deal with outage in the area. Not a good weekend for connectivity.
That sounds so ****. And let me guess its probably 2-3 days of downtime and calls to fix something you didnt break?Dunno why they had to go down and back up again for customers who opted in to stay on speeds. I'm paying R220 extra on my vox fibre plan but it is unlimited to cell phones as well which makes it worth it as I phone a lot of cell phones. International calls is also stupidly cheap.R999 is with the Unlimited calls to Telkom numbers on the landline over Fibre.
What's the fair use policy on that unlimited plan? I'm thinking of getting something like this for my wife. The amount of money she spends on voice is ridiculous and I might as well go for a fixed amountI'm paying R220 extra on my vox fibre plan but it is unlimited to cell phones as well which makes it worth it as I phone a lot of cell phones. Not sure, have never read the T&Cs. Had multiple cell phone calls of more than hour though. I assume you safe as long as you don't use it for a business. What's the fair use policy on that unlimited plan? I'm thinking of getting something like this for my wife. Damn, I see they give an 087 number. That's problematic because most people don't answer those numbers (I know neither me or the wife answer them) since it's mostly spam. I wonder if there's a way to get an 021 number somewhere and then move it to Vox?Not sure, have never read the T&Cs. Had multiple cell phone calls of more than hour though. Oh I forgot to mention you also get a MTN sim with 1GB data and an app called 'vobi' where you can do the same from your mobile provided you have data. If you port your telkom landline like I did, it also rings on the vobi app on your cell if somebody phones your landline.
Yeah know what you mean but more and more businesses have 087 numbers these days as more people use VOIP. I usually screen my calls by means of apps like Truecaller cause those will usually tell you if a particular number was reported for spam. Not sure how to get a number you can port although I haven't googled it yet.Damn, I see they give an 087 number. Baiting new customers as far as i see. Next thing you know thousands are locked in and complaining right here.I see Frogfoot telling everyone they have doubled speeds again: https://mybroadband.co.za/news/indu...elp-with-south-africas-economic-recovery.html
"
In response to the initial declaration of a National State of Disaster, and implementation of lockdown restrictions in March, several fibre network operators (FNOs) introduced promotional campaigns that offered customers a doubling of their Internet line speeds at no extra cost.
While other FNOs have since ended their promotion, Chorley stated that Frogfoot will continue with its promotional campaign and evaluate it on a monthly basis.
Given this demand is not just in the cities, Frogfoot is also steadily pursuing a strategy of rolling out its network in a growing number of secondary cities and towns around the country, such as Bloemfontein, Ermelo, George, Kimberley, Mossel Bay, Pietermaritzburg, Polokwane, and Richards Bay.
"
I find this really disingenuos as this seems to only apply to new sign ups, we had our Double up end in ealry July.

That isn't what Comtel tells meHello
I still have double my speed, so no change there and i have been a customer for a while so dont think it is just for new costumers
So i checked last night for you and called my ISP to confirm. the free upgrade is for existing and new customers, there is some restrictions on PE and 1 or 2 FNO's cant recall wo they are but you should get it if you are bot part of those exclusionsThat isn't what Comtel tells me
"This is correct, however customers signing up since 1 April will get double their selected line speed at no extra cost, until further notice from Frogfoot. Hereafter your speed will return to your contracted billed speed.
"
This is what Frogfoot says
"The Double Up Campaign
New customers who sign up for Frogfoot Fibre will be able to get that extra boost while working, studying or just relaxing at home together. Customers signing up since 1 April will get double their selected line speed at no extra cost, until further notice from Frogfoot. Hereafter your speed will return to your contracted billed speed.
