Free Netflix streaming on Telkom FreeMe contracts

If it's a Android TV box that can do 1080P Netflix and not just a normal modified version of Android it's going to be awesome.

But with this deal you're limited @ 360p zero rated, you go higher they bill you. Unless you'll use another service provider/service with it.

Next thing business order: You can get the FreeMe bundles on prepaid with a 30 day validity right?

I got the contract on one of the "Big Deals" so it was cheaper than the normal contract, if I upgrade I will be paying the normal price.

I wasn't thinking of the free stuff, it's a Android box that is guaranteed to work with DSTV and Showmax, a lot of these other Android boxes can't do DSTV and Showmax, and if it's Android TV it can also do 1080P Netflix, where the other boxes with normal Android are limited to 480P Netflix.

Will just have to wait and see the specs.

Just unroot your device or buy one of the new Mygica's that's unrooted at OOB.

That's actually a pretty good deal even if you need the 5gb package , looking at my usage about 2/3rds of it is youtube so its a great package, might make car streaming worth wild now :)

Aah...

Not if it supports Widevine Level 1. Latest ones all support it.

I'm not thinking of buying one, I was just thinking the general population, if it's a good spec box and we know it does DSTV and Showmax, or at least they say it does, for R1099 that's not bad.

Take some of my friends for example, they don't have DSTV or any internet except their phones, so R299 for 5GB data, R1099 for the box, a mifi modem and borrow DSTV details, that's not too bad.

So SuperSport, a bunch of DSTV channels you can watch live, on demand content and free YouTube for R299.

and Malusi wants to sell!!!!

Does it mean all devices connected to a hotspot can stream at no cost. This will work brilliantly for my cars while travelling.

I wonder if they found an existing Android TV? partner and repackaged it [Mi Box anyone?]. I want to take a wild guess and say that Netflix isn't limited to 1080p but 4K HDR compatible. It just depends who you are when using it.

This is just like what is happening in the US now, only thing is they limit speeds for video. I hope they planned for this  cause i know many of you are damn hungry.

One question i have. Can one stream zero-rated to others? That is, live-stream your video and not have data get chowed? ;)

Awesome!! Telkom moving in the right direction and I'm loving it.Recently I cancelled all my ISP accounts(ok, save for one small cap acc.in case:whistling:) when I "down/upgraded" to homeunlimited 4Mbps and now can't wait for those speed upgrades. Well done Telkom, never thought I would say that.

Not for me personally. To encourage others who want to try getting a YT channel going and get a taste even if it is at a lower resolution. :)

Where are you going to live stream you video?
