No 1st world country offers satellite Internet that is faster and cheaper than ADSL, so don't expect the situation to be any better here.

The channels & radio stations are pathetic, to say the least. The only channel worth anything is France 24.

If they were able to offer anything remotely connected to this http://www.freeview.co.uk/whats-on/channels there'd be something to get a bit excited about.

Note that on Freeview-UK, Sky News, Al Jazeera & Russia Today are well, free !
Not like here, where to get access to them you need to have DStv, just like about everything else that's worthwhile.
