Are there any F2P mmorpg's where there are either no paying customers, or paying customers don't have a gross edge over non paying,

I heard good things about Forsaken World but then I heard there is a major imbalance between paying/ non paying

Get Guild Wars 2 when it comes out. Initial payment for the game itself, but no monthly subs. You won't regret it :)

Only recently looked at it again. Aion is now free to play. Similar to WOW just not as well rounded.

However - i have no idea if there is a significant advantage when you are a paying customer. Haven't been playing long enough to actually make an educated guess.

Might be worth a try - I just need to warn you if you start from scratch it is a huge download.

Star Trek Online. It's the only F2P game where you can't actually "pay to win", and you don't really miss out on anything much if you don't spend any money. Other than Champions Online that is.

Guild Wars 2 has no monthly subs, you only pay for the box once (Bought mine from BT Games for R445)

If Guild Wars 2 has no other players outside of the towns then i don't want to play it. I was so disappointed with Guild Wars 1 when i saw how full the towns were but when you step out of the town... NOTHING. Just a barren wasteland filled with NPC's.

GW2 has a persistent world, with no "private worlds" as GW1 had.

Yeah - they're free for a reason.

Except for STO which is brilliant

I installed STO and played for like half an hour. I found it to be illogical.
