One of the reasons why I was happy for the fruit of my loins to stay at this particular Uni rez was the fact that their website stated:

With an all-inclusive rate that covers FREE uncapped wi-fi, laundry, parking, a gym, braai areas, study and computer centres

That FREE uncapped wi-fi bit did it for me, only to discover a few weeks in that it is throttled and streaming sites like Netflix are banned...

Needless to say I was pretty fecked off and the child did not want me to rock the boat.

BUT

Year two and I still feel grated by this and feel that this is misleading and false advertising....

Anyone think I have a case?

Can you imagine a few thousand people steaming Netflix every night on that one internet connection..??

It's ultimately a learning institution and the main goal of the free internet is to allow access to online resources for studying purposes.. not for Netflix..

That said, when my wife was at Rez, they had DC++ running wild there and she grabbed whatever she wanted to watch from there..

Its usually a local (uni-wide) DC++ or similar
