Hi

I am very new at this and need some help.ADSL was recently installed at my home.
My network layout is as follows: 1 Windows 2000 Server with 2 network adapters, one going to my Marconi Ethernet Modem and the other to my hub. 3 Windows XP pc's are connected to the hub as well. The setup works very well with the 2000 server. i would like to replace the 2000 server with a FreeBSD 4.9 system.

Has anyone here setup a FreeBSD system to dial up with the Ethernet modem?

Thanks in advance

Hi
Do you have a specific reason for using FreeBSD?
Can't help with the FreeBSD detail, but using linux (Redhat) is really simple:
Once you have both your ethernet cards configured (usually autodetect), install rp-pppoe and follow the prompts.
Install a firewall script that suits your requirements and that's it!
Let me know if you need step-by-step for Redhat.

There is a simple guide on setting it up with PPP in the FreeBSD handbook. Not sure on any Telkom ADSL specifics, but if you run into any problems there should be masses of documentation on Google.
