Hi Guys.

I currently work full time as an Android Developer but would love to get some freelance experience and the extra income is always lovely. So if anyone is looking for a freelance developer or perhaps you know of someone that is looking for one then please contact me.

I don't have a link to a portfolio as such, but what I have done in the past in terms of Application development is as follows:

  • Time and access control Application that interfaces with an embedded micro controller and biometrics

  • Time and access control Application that interfaces directly with a biometrics scanner (not through a micro controller) for enrolling people

  • An Application that monitors power and alerts a database of users when the power goes out

  • A parking meter Application for FNB where authentication was done to a server

  • A few other small Applications

Other than that I have done a lot of hardware integration with Android, so working with manufacturers SDK/Libraries to talk to hardware, I have also recently started on custom ROM design.

Currently I am still looking at building my portfolio and I have touched on a ton of the different elements and technologies within Android and I understand the environment extremely well. So I am keen to work for/on the budget available for the project and not too hard up about charging a fixed rate.

I am also able to tutor or help out as a consultant on current Android Applications or questions that someone may have (that will probably then be a fixed fee or something like that).

Thanks

So I have had some feedback on this. If anyone is keen on learning Android, I can teach you at about R220 per hour. But I can also offer a package deal where I work out a price to teach you something specific.

So for example if you want to learn Android but know nothing of Java, then I can put together a package where I teach you the basics of Java and then move over to Android and teach you how to make and deploy your first Application, as well as how to generate resources for the Application etc. But this is very specific so each person would have a different need and thus there are no standard packages, each one will be worked out to cater for what it is that you would like to learn.
